How we look after your information

When you make a booking enquiry we collect the details you give us: your name, email address, telephone number, the dates you would like to stay, the number of adults and children, and any notes you add. This information is used only to arrange your stay and to communicate with you about it.

Guest feedback is only published with permission. Private contact details and Messenger conversations are not displayed.

Guest names, contact details, payment information and private booking notes are never shown on the public availability calendar. The public calendar only shows whether dates are available or unavailable.

Online bookings are paid securely through PayFast. Your booking is confirmed once your PayFast payment has been completed successfully. The website does not store card details — payments are processed by PayFast on their secure platform.

Booking enquiries and confirmed bookings are stored in a managed database. Access to that booking information is restricted to Paula and Tom as the cottage owners. Connections to the website use HTTPS, so information you send through the booking and contact forms is encrypted in transit.

We keep booking details for as long as we need them to manage your stay, deal with any follow-up (for example a refund or repeat visit) and meet our normal accounting and tax record requirements. You can ask us to delete your booking information once it is no longer needed for those purposes.

Our website uses only the small amount of browser storage needed to run the booking pages. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on the public website.
